Nefil Office Chair

I love to sit with a straight back but, referring back to that manager in a residential home, or any job where that budget seems to overwhelm you, you can find yourself glued to your seat, tossing figures around in your mind and easily forgetting that you should have gone home hours ago. And that’s when I realised I wasn’t sitting upright anymore but was, at times, sprawling across my desk and suffering the consequent pain.

A good ergonomic office chair will encourage you to sit up properly. It will have all those whizzes and bangs that, when you adjust them to suit your frame, you’ll want to own those changes, to make use of them and, as you’ll find out, to benefit from them.

The higher up you get in office life, the less likely you are to take a real lunch break. And office life doesn’t only occur in an office. A strange thing to say I know but even a manager in a residential home is working in an office, so you see what I mean. While computers were to reduce paperwork, I suppose they did reduce the ‘paper’ element but they didn’t reduce the need to fill in forms, hence the need to be comfortable when you’re sitting at your desk.

Take the Nefil Office Chair model by Ergohuman as an example. Coming in a mesh upholstery, it’s a breathable material which is already giving you comfort. With its adjustments of seat height, seat tilt and glide, you can get your perfect sitting position. Have you ever sunk into a sofa that is too low and too squidgy and, though it might feel good as you drop into it, it’s not really a comfortable experience? Well, getting that seat pad of the Nefil just right for you means that you’re guaranteed comfort, that you can enjoy the experience and that coming and going, as office life demands, become second nature actions.

The Nefil ergonomic office chair also has an in-built lumbar support panel which, when you’ve adjusted the seat back to make that lumbar panel meet with your lumbar region, you will be hugging your back and keeping you in comfortable working posture. A good example when talking about chairs is think of carrying a bottle of wine in a suitcase, without padding like wrapping the bottle in a tee-shirt or two and then fixing it in position inside your suitcase. Something’s going to give, isn’t it? While you might b able to replace the bottle of wine the same day, getting the pain out of your body as a result of sitting badly isn’t going to be so quick. So, yes, supporting your lower back really is important, as it goes towards supporting all-round good health.

And when that Nefil ergonomic office chair comes in a super colour of your own choice, it’ll feel just as good as that personally-chosen wine tastes. You might also want to have a look at the Ergohuman Office Chair from the same family.

Ergonomics, Space and the Ergohuman Plus

In today’s world, space is becoming tighter and so, when planning an office, or where your office space should be in your own home, you need to look at space-saving devices, multi-purpose items and, amongst all of that, how to keep working hours and the non-working hours distinct from each other. But we also need to treat ourselves, don’t we?
So, as regards to working from home, if sitting occupies a high percentage of your day (we’re talking work and also those ‘me’ hours of television, gaming and Facebook), finding the right ergonomic, ‘all singing all dancing’, chair is a win-win situation, right?
Well, I’ve found the right one for you. It’s the Ergohuman Plus Office Chair. We’re talking top end of the market here, a chair that stands out from the rest and can be a bit of a talking point because, not only is it a handsome chair, it’s also fully adjustable, almost like having your name written on it. By that, I mean that when you have used the single lever to make the chair of your dreams adjust to your personal preferences as in seat depth, seat height and back tilt, and when you’ve made use of that seat tilt option which gets you in a more alert sitting position, who knows what heights you might climb to? In work and in gaming!
If you go for mesh upholstery (I did), your ergonomic office chair can be made more to your idea of handsome. And with that polished aluminium frame, it’s like wearing the best watch or jewellery. Does black make you feel good? Or what about green or red? And if you can’t make your mind up, why not have the seat pad in one colour and the backrest in another? It’s all about individual taste, isn’t it? Maybe you want to fit in with everyone else, or maybe that naughty-cum-playful streak within you wants to let others know that you’re, well, this is who you are.
To make things even better, you can accessorise your Ergohuman Plus with a legrest – ideal when you’re in pensive thought, or in Facebook mode. The brilliant thing about the legrest is that, as it is attached to your Ergohuman Plus, it can be tucked away under the seat pad when not in use, so you don’t have to use any space for a stand-alone footrest. Get the back tilt right, put your feet up (shoes off, of course!) and dream on.
If you’re in working (or gaming) mode, make use of that forward seat tilt, which makes you feel as though you are sitting more upright than usual and therefore more alert. And, if you’re really short of space, or you could do this simply for pleasure and ergonomic effectiveness, add a notebook arm to your trusty steed, which allows you to connect your laptop safely to your Ergohuman Plus and create a oneness with what you’re involved with in that moment.
Of course, the Ergohuman Plus + legrest + notebook arm will be effective both in your office and in your home but, in the office, use the chair only for working, as gaming and Facebook may not go down well with the boss.

The Ergohuman ‘Enjoy’ Does Just That!

The name ‘Enjoy’ for an ergonomic office chair makes you like it straightaway, doesn’t it? Still, we’re inquisitive creatures and would need to know a little more before purchasing, wouldn’t we?

Well, the Enjoy ergonomic office chair is one of the stunning designs offered in the Ergohuman range and I always advise that this is the best place to start looking if you want a seriously effective chair. With autoflex zones which give lumbar support, a single lever for making many of the adjustments (including back height , back tilt and seat slide), three-dimensional arm rest adjustments (height, width and angle) and the option of a headrest, this ergonomic office chair is serious business when it comes to looking after the human frame.

The chair frame is very inviting to look at, the back support giving the impression of a tree and its branches. To me, that has the psychological feeling of growth and that’s something that is needed in the work environment. Gone are the days of chairs designed simply to sit on; today’s chairs have to sell themselves by looking good as well.

The upholstery I would go for is mesh, as it offers so many advantages. It’s breathable and thus helps to keep you cool longer. It’s longer-lasting, as the mesh is tightly-woven. It’s easy to look after, simply needing the occasional wipe over to keep it looking clean and fresh. And, as for colour, you can have straightforward black or blue, or go for a more interesting red, green, orange, burgundy, white or grey. Teamed with a white, black, or silver frame (for me, in that order), you’ve got a nice piece of equipment to help you with your job. It looks good, feels good and so do you!

Electric Height Adjustable Desks

Ergonomics is all about choosing something that fits the individual like a Electric Height Adjustable Desk Similar to choosing a suit or a pair of jeans, if the item feels good, then so do you. That’s why ergonomic desks come in all shapes and sizes, taking on board the person and the responsibilities of the job.

The height of a desk or table normally falls within 24 and 27 inches and, with an ergonomic chair, the set-up should be that the user’s lower arms lie horizontally on the armrests, to meet the desk comfortably. But a chair is height adjustable, meaning that if a tall person is sitting in the ergonomic chair, there may be little clearance for the legs under the desk and the forearms may be on a downward slope, as they reach the keyboard. It therefore makes sense that desks are also height-adjustable.

So, when the ergonomic office chair and the height-adjustable desk come together, they should be covering the following points:-

• The legs slide comfortably under the desk and the person’s feet sit firmly on the floor (someone with restricted growth may make use of an ergonomic footrest, to achieve ideal posture)

• The forearms are positioned horizontally, using the armrests for full support, so that hands meet the desk comfortably, without any need to bend the wrists unnaturally

• The monitor is placed directly in front of the user but set back at least 20 inches and its height should be such that the eyes look down ever so slightly, to read the screen. Some ergonomic desks have an extra shelf attached to the back of the desk top, on which a monitor can stand, though getting the eye-to-screen mathematics right is paramount, when making a desk choice. There are also monitor lift arms, which can mount a monitor at the right height for the individual

• The desk is not too deep, that reaching becomes an issue.

Ergonomic desks come in a variety of shapes – the normal rectangular, L shaped, curved front, rounded edges, split level and also with suspended keyboard tray. Height-adjustable tables also cater for work which is better done standing up e.g. looking at plans and pointing to information being discussed, or sorting information into folios or piles where, without that extra height, stooping would be necessary.

Working out what’s right for you may seem a bit of a challenge but, with the above information, you can see what ergonomics is all about. Like that suit or pair of jeans, you now know what you’re looking for.

Whats left is a ergonomic office chair like the Active Ergonomics Flo Chair or the heavy duty Bodybilt chair

Why the Ergohuman Chair

Life is now more sedentary than ever before. Before the Industrial Revolution came along, adults and even young children laboured in the fields and, as a result, the whole body received a daily workout. Now, in the age of computer technology, work has become mostly sedentary and, as a result, the human body gets little exercise during those working hours. This means that the human frame needs to be looked after in its seated position, otherwise health problems can arise due to lack of physical activity. A sensible employer will pay attention to correct seating, as conditions such as a bad back, sciatica or shoulder pain will invariably lead to sickness and lower output.

A chair has gone from being a wooden frame with four legs to an ergonomic speciality on an aluminium frame sporting castors and, as each human frame is different, so are the ergonomic office chairs which are designed to support that human frame. A truly ergonomic chair will address weight, height, body frame, length of legs and arms and may also give head support.

Start by looking at the Ergohuman, an office chair which has the whole human frame in mind. A single lever allows the user to change the tilt of the chair for maximum comfort and there may be times when the user wants to be upright and extremely attentive, as opposed to laid back and deep in thought. One can also alter the height of the seat to agree with the length of the person’s legs, alter the height and position of the armrests and apply a seat slide for perfect positioning.

A unique point about the Ergohuman is its flexible lumbar support system which, situated in the lower part of the chair back, adjusts itself to hug the lower back of its user. Once a chair has had all its adjustments made to match the user, thought might turn to fixing a head rest. This will not only support the head but give support to the neck a well.

As human beings, we are also fickle and so colour and upholstery may need to be addressed when choosing the right ergonomic chair. Corporate colours may mean that only a particular colour can be chosen as, in a big office or in an open-plan environment, the same colour will be more pleasing on the eye than a multitude of colours scattered everywhere.
As regards to fabric, one’s position in a company may allow leather to be the choice but, for most of the workers, the choice may fall between a basic fabric or mesh. Each type of upholstery has its own benefits; leather is more durable, fabric is washable and mesh breathes. When it comes to sales, mesh proves to be very popular, both because of its breathability and its interesting range of colours.

Though fabric and colour may seem to have little to do with ergonomics, being happy with these two points really does make a chair more satisfying. A new chair from the Ergohuman Range is the Mirus Office Chair

The Perfect Ergonomic Office

Imagine you’re sitting in a perfect office: somewhere where you have to go but you’re also pleased to be. Everyone’s idea will be slightly different, though all will contain the essentials.

A perfect ergonomic office will be light and inviting. If there’s a window close to you, the natural light will make the office feel fresh and alive. If this isn’t happening for you, then you need to invite light into the room. A standard lamp may add a touch of homeliness and you can also use angle poise lamps, to direct the light to your office desk, making reading easy, particularly on those long winter days when everything seems to be overcast. Don’t forget that view from the window. Maybe it’s beautiful, maybe it’s not, so why not hang a scenic picture on the wall in front of you, or frame a smaller version for your desk: it might not be a desk toy but it will still make you feel good.

If your office is small, make it feel bigger. This can be done by using glass office furniture, as the light passing through that beautiful crystal gives an illusion of space. However, if you’re one of those people that hoards a lot of stuff under your office desk, you’re now going to have to tidy up your act. This in itself is a good thing, as we are always being told to de-clutter our lives and getting rid of unnecessary paper will again create space. It will also make work more pleasurable, as you have now become more organised.

So, the place looks bigger, brighter and inviting. The next step is to get that office chair right. Right for you, as you’re the one who is going to be sitting in it. It’s not only the seat pad that is important, although sitting on something soft is better than something that has no flexibility. You want that best office chair to be supporting you in all the right places. The lower back of the chair matches your lower back: it’s giving support and taking some of the weight of your upper body off your own frame. Its adjustable arm rests, its swivel action and its seat pad height mechanism make sitting a more natural action, rather than an expected pose. While all of this happening, your body is relaxing and encouraging your thoughts to be in the same frame of mind. So what type of office chair? Well considering all of the above it has to be an ergonomic office chair.

For many of us, even the journey to work can be stressful, so the last thing you want is to carry this edginess through the day. Getting that ergonomic office right for you will reflect itself in the quality of your work and the quantity and that can’t be a bad thing, can it?

Ergohuman Chair Range

I already have my office chair but, if you need to buy one for yourself, I would suggest that you look no further than the Ergohuman range. I have the Nefil office chair, though my colleague swears by the Enjoy office chair model but it really depends on what you’re looking for. One of the points that should affect your decision is your body frame but the nature of your job is also important. What I mean by that second consideration is do you sit down all day long or are you always up and down, does the job involve a lot of twisting (maybe your filing cabinets are right next to you and you don’t have to actually leave your seat to put something away).

For me, the seat tilt and slide and the backrest tilt mean that I can get my back and my bottom to fit comfortably into the Nefil chair, so that I am actually using its magnificent features to support the whole of my back. That means that I am making use of the lumbar support that the chair back gives. My friend likes the Enjoy chair, as it has autoflex zones in the lumbar support feature and this does it for her.

All of the Ergohuman chair models are to die for, as a lot of thinking has gone into their design. They all have many features and adjustments and I suppose the most noticeable difference is the look of the chair. I just love the simple look and the Nefil’s chair back from the rear reminds me of the old-style beer bottle opener. The chair looks good and makes me feel good. With its ribbed look back support, the Enjoy appeals to my friend and that’s fine.

One thing we both agreed on was the choice of fabric. Though the leather is very nice, we much preferred the airiness of the mesh. It’s easy to wipe clean and is a chair that breathes, if you know what I mean.

I’m really pleased that I was guided towards the Ergohuman range of chairs. It was sound advice and that’s why I am passing the same information on. There’s an interesting range of colours to choose from as well. And as regards to that sound advice … don’t forget to pass it on.

Ergohuman Plus Mesh office Chair

It can get very difficult to differentiate between some ergonomic office chairs, particularly when the names are very similar but, suffice to say, the Ergohuman Plus is the top of the range in the Ergohuman stakes, with plenty to offer the health-conscious office worker. The Ergohuman Plus is the top of the range mesh office chair.

This model is ninety eight percent recyclable and has more aluminium detailing than its close relatives, so it’s a smart looking chair with a strong frame. Its long list of adjustment possibilities mean the Ergohuman Plus can be altered to suit everyone.

One lever controls the three main adjustment areas of seat height, seat depth and back tilt, all of which get the chair to fit the smallest or tallest person. The height adjustment can cater for five foot to six foot four inches and the seat depth is particularly important, as correct adjustment keeps your back in contact with the back rest, while reducing any pressure that could fall on the knees, if the seat pad didn’t match you leg length. Like in a car, the back tilt gets the body in a good position for the arms to reach their place of work comfortably.

Arm rests are really important, as they support your arms and therefore also reduce any pull on your shoulders, guiding your hands to the desk or computer keyboard. The arm rests on the Ergohuman Plus offer multidimensional adjustments, meaning up, down, backwards, forwards and also in and out. Making sure that your elbows are placed comfortably near your body rather than splayed at a wide angle makes a huge difference to overall support.

Lumbar support is essential and this ergonomic office chair boasts autoflex zones for added comfort and that important support. Adjusting the seat back will get this important feature to work for you and make long days seems less stressful.

The Plus has a seat tilt option which helps take pressure off the spine but only when adjusted correctly for its user. It really does pay to get all adjustments set to meet your needs, or the ‘ergonomic’ quality of the chair will be there in name only.

With a matching headrest, this office must-have oozes comfort and, in a choice of either mesh or leather upholstery, you really do feel loved.
